Infinity was established in 2015 in order to support those caught in the 'revolving door' of support, in and out of agencies or falling between ever increasing thresholds. Since then we have expanded into the fab team we are today offering various services across Greater Manchester & North Wales
Our success is owing to having a strong and dedicated team. Our Service Manager has trained as a counsellor, has 18 years of experience working in the crime and disorder field and specialises in community, asset-based approaches and public service reform. Supporting the day to day delivery are 2 deputy managers who have vast experience in mental health, community work, art therapy and children services so together form a strong multi-skilled team supported by a 25+ volunteer pool with backgrounds /day jobs in:-Mental Health-Primary Care -Addiction / Rehabilitation-Social Work-Education-Benefits and rights -Lived experience – which is usually the most important support we can give to our clients.
All projects and services are co-designed between staff, volunteers and clients. It is also a priority to co-deliver wherever possible and a continual review and development of our work is essential to providing a timely and fit for purpose service. The team is further supported by a team of 10 counsellors. Counselling clients will have direct access to additional support such as debt management, foodbank access and advocacy. Our main strategic aim is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for individuals and to provide an offer of bespoke support without timeframes and thresholds.
Our delivery is second to none and successful owing to the dedication and genuine caring nature of the team plus a fantastic local knowledge of services, people, businesses and systems. We sit on various panels and groups throughout Tameside which allows us to keep up to date with local developments but also provides a forum for us to be the voice of our client and champion for local system change. Following the identification of many cross-border issues and the inability of agencies to be able to respond, we have established a cross border network which covers the whole of Greater Manchester with representation from each of the ten areas from both statutory and community / voluntary groups. This has allowed for us to support complex clients who may move from one area, to another in particular people who are currently homeless, who are imprisoned, moving to a new house or accessing medical treatment.
